I am a monarchist. In fact, I would enjoy seeing the future of America go the way of Rome and abandon the Republic and move to Empire. George Bush (peace be upon him) should follow the path set forward by the Emperor Augustus. Pax Americana!
Is it all for the "Glory of America"? Do you have a hint of hope for a better world through U.S. control? I think you just like the futility of it all and figure that the strongest should prove it. If I am right, how does this action move from being a merely dominant action to a justified one? What about all the people that would die in such an endeavor? We can't assume we are God's nation sent to punish godless nations as the Israelites did. He has not told us as much about our nation, nor about others.

Rome was God's agent to "execute God's wrath on the wrongdoer" (ROMANS 13). God establishes all authority and we should be pleased with the efforts they take to govern the mandate they have been temporarily given. America will fade just as all before her but while it lasts it is in service to the desires of God to control the excesses of the ungodly.
You should write a story about America in the near future, ruled by a King, and how much better it would be. Publically humiliating criminals would be a plus.

And I suppose if two maniacs told you to jump off a bridge......oh, never mind.
